Bellabox - April 2014 review

My Bellabox was the first to arrive this month on the 21st. I wasn't even expecting it as I hadn't received a dispatch notice from them. I also hadn't really seen any sneek peaks or anything so wasn't sure what I'd find when I opened it.

This month's theme was 'Autumn Winter Style'. The first thing I saw when I opened it was Burt's Bees which was great to see, but then I saw a smashed eyeshadow. I also thought what a tiny box product wise, but I am actually missing a product. Here is what I received in more detail:

Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream (8.5g)
RRP $14.95, 17g
I have never really used a cuticle cream before, as it isn't something I have ever really thought about, so that's why I was pretty pleased to see this included. This is the kind of thing I want to see from my beauty boxes - something I wouldn't necessarily think of using or trying! This smells just like lemons and is divine! I've used it a couple of times now, and although I don't really see a difference yet, it does feel lovely on. It contains Sweet Almond Oil and Cocoa Seed Butter and feels very luxurious! It's nice to give my hands a little TLC as they don't often get it. Great inclusion and i'm very happy with it!

Gatineau Aquamemory Moisture Replenish Cream
RRP $104, 50ml
This is the product I didn't receive so unfortunately can't tell you much about it!

Indio Eye Rise (5ml)
RRP $67.20, 15ml
I have received a fair amount of eye products from Bellabox so although not very exciting it is good to try out eye creams prior to buying as most of them have such a hefty price tag! This is an anti-ageing eye cream for day use, with sunscreen and apparently 'concealing properties'. I thought it was just a cream until i tried a little and it is actually a concealer as well, albeit an almost sheer one - I still needed to apply more concealer over the top if I was venturing out anywhere, however just for around the house/farm it was fine. It felt quite soothing when I applied, and made my eyes look a little more fresh and happy! Another great inclusion to the box!

Red Earth Illusion Lights Beauty Pro Eyeshadow Grey Flannel (full size)
RRP $12, 1.5g
This product was unfortunately smashed when I received it so again, I can't really tell you much else about it. I haven't opened it as it will just go everywhere, so I will just wait to receive a replacement to see what this is about. According to the card it is a 'highly pigmented shade which are infused with precious light-reflecting minerals for an awakening affect'. Hmm, sounds interesting. I have emailed Bellabox and they are going to send me a replacement (hopefully in the same colour!) so I will review once I've used it.

L'oreal Base Magique Primer (5ml)
RRP $29.95, 30ml
I have received this one before and I double checked (for some reason I keep all the cards for each beauty box I receive - don't know why!) and it was from Bellabox previously as well so not impressed with that. It is an okay primer but certainly not the best I have used. It does make your skin smoother but you have to rub it between your fingers first and it just is not as easy to use as other, better, cheaper, products out there.

Revlon Nearly Naked Makeup (bonus)
RRP $25.95, 30ml
Again, I've received this exact sample in a previous Lust Have It box. It is a good sample, considering you get 4 shades (Shell, Natural Beige, True Beige and Natural Tan) so you can really see which is best for your skin colour. My previous sample I mixed shades together to get a perfect match for me. The foundation itself is not the greatest though, it dried out my skin in spots and didn't give a good coverage, which is what I want from a foundation.

So overall a fairly good box. Even though I didn't receive an item, and one was broken (I will get these sent to me in 1-2 weeks according to Bellabox and they were quite quick in getting back to my email for a change) I did find a great eye cream and loved trying the Burt's Bees product. I've worked out that this box is worth about $65 (based on the Gatineau product being about 10ml - i'm guessing here) so a great value box money wise.

What did you think? Do you subscribe to Bellabox? Did you get anything different from me?
