Her Fitness Box - March 2014 review

I received my Her Fitness Box for March (!!!!) on 22nd April. They were really really slow getting these out, and were not very good letting us know either so they whole thing has been a huge let down. After the launch box being such a disappointment and the lack of communication around the March box I unsubscribed at the beginning of April.

March's box was a marked improvement on February's, although really it wasn't hard to top that miserable thing haha! This has been 'designed' by Sally Bee - I don't know who that is and it gives no other information on her. I googled her name and it came up someone else so not sure who she is or what she does! This month they've included a card detailing what is included and have added a few extras:

As you can see a fairly full 'box' however I didn't actually receive this in a box. It came in a satchel with everything packed in the tote bag. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as I don't keep the large boxes, however on their website they state 'collectible box' so they blatantly need to change their advertising!

As I said before, they included a 'what's in the box' card which is a great addition (their launch box didn't have one - they did it in an obvious rush) as it let's us know what is what and how much everything is worth.
They have kept the exercise and recipe cards up which is another great plus to this box. This month the exercise card is for 'prone holds' (planks), donkey kicks and glute bridges. These are great as they show you correct technique and tell you exactly what the exercise is for. The recipe card contained recipes for Blueberry Protein Pancakes, Tummy Ease Raspberry Pops and Chimichurri Tofu - YUM. Looking forward to trying all these out!

The fitness items included are:

Tote Bag (RRP $20)
Don't know how this is worth $20 and I doubt I'll really use it as I have a mini stockpile of these type of bags. It is bigger than February's though so that is a plus.

HFB Protein Shaker (RRP $15)
I find that these types of shakers don't really work as I ALWAYS end up with lumps in my shake, so I opt for a hand held electric mixer. In saying that though the 'shaker' part has always been plastic and this one is metal so perhaps it will work better? Guess I can only try it. This bottle is only up to 400ml so is not the biggest but I'll give it a try. It is going to get a good soaking first though as the inside STINKS.

HFB Sweat Towel (RRP $15)
This is a good little sweat towel and I will definately use it!

The health and lifestyle samples included are:

Slim Secrets Mini Protein Bar (RRP $2.70, 28g)
This also came with a product information sheet, detailing what they are, what they are supposed to do and what flavours they come in which is a good thing to have. I haven't tried this out, and I don't really go for the whole protein bar thing as I'd prefer to make my own snacks, without all the additional nasties. A good thing to try but I doubt I'll be going out and buying any (especially at $2.70 for a tiny bar!!)

Caltrate Soft Chews (RRP $11.99 pack of 60)
I received three sample packs of these, with two chews in each. As you can see I've already opened two! These are a chewable calcium supplement in a chocolate flavour. They were actually quite yum! Again, i'm not sure if I will buy these, as I don't really need them but they were good to try.

Tea with Benefits Tummy Ease (RRP $4)
I have received a different flavour tea in a Her Fashion Box before and loved it. This one is 'tummy ease' and 'gently detoxes the digestive system and organs, helps decrease body fat, reduces bloating and reduces sugar cravings'. I am a bit scepticle that a tea does all that, but it's worth a try I suppose! It smells great and I can't wait to try it. Might go and boil the jug now!!

Muesli for Me Fitness Mix (RRP $4)
I've received this in previous Her Fashion Boxes as well and I have to say it is pretty yummy! This is a 45g sample and i'm looking forward to eating it again. I also received a discount code at www.muesliforme.com.au for 20% of first month, code is NOMNOM

I also received some other extras, which aren't included on the card:

I am not sure why these have been included, I can only assume it is to try and add some weight to the box, and perhaps try and make up for February's box a little bit. The extras are a pair of exfoliating gloves, pumice stone, schick razor and white glo toothpaste. As good as receiving these extra items are for me it is not what this box is about. If I want to see items like this I'll look for the Her Fashion Box. I paid $39.95 to receive fitness items, not a mishmash of beauty items! Am I being to tough here?

Anyway, overall a pretty decent box and like I said a marked improvement on the launch box. I think that they just weren't ready for their first box and rushed it out - this would have been a much better one to start off with. The box, not including the added beauty items, is worth about $62, but really the tote bag shouldn't be included in that total in my opinion. At this rate, I don't think that these boxes are worth the money and have unsubscribed, however I will be keeping an eye on it just to see what they throw up for future boxes. It is a fantastic idea so hopefully they get better!

What do you think? Have you or would you subscribe?
