Her Fashion Box - April 2014 review

April is my last box from Her Fashion Box as I have now unsubscribed. Again they were late, I received this on 16 May. My biggest problem with HFB is their lack of communication. They don't give any updates on where the boxes are until you ask them which for me is not good enough. Yes I understand they moved buildings and had problems with receiving items from suppliers but really, you'd think they would be a month or so in front anyway. Their boxes have been steadily going downhill product wise, and for $39.95 a month (being the most expensive one I subscribe to) it just wasn't worth it anymore!

April's box came in a satchel, with everything tucked into the tote bag. The socks and magazine were seperate to the rest of the products, again included in a small HFB magnetic box. Here is what the April Classic box contained:

 

The gift for completing the March feedback survey was the black tote bag. I have plenty of these bags (a couple from these fashion boxes plus the fitness boxes) but I suppose another one won't hurt. I do like the black.

HFB Daisy Cuff RRP $19.95

I actually burst out laughing when I put this on. It is so huge and chunky it makes me feel like a power ranger haha! It is not great quality either, there are scratches all over it already and it has just been in the box... I definately won't be wearing this.

 

HFB Drizzle Earrings RRP $19.95

These are the tackiest earrings I have ever seen. They are gawdy gold with hideous blue stones which aren't even glued on straight. I definately won't be wearing these either.

 

A note on HFB jewellery - i do not know where they pull the RRP from when they are blatantly cheap and worth about $2. What is with the constant gold? I have never received a silver piece from HFB even though my 'style profile' says I prefer silver. I get that they have the 3 different boxes (classic, trendy and feminine) but why have the 'style profile' when they don't even listen to it?

 

HFB Chloro socks RRP $24.95

The last thing I was expecting was socks! I'd seen a few posts on the HFB facebook page so I knew I was getting these prior to opening my box. A good winter addition I suppose and it is good to see a different accessory so I am glad they are trying something new. When I took a closer look at my socks in the packet though they had condensation all through the packet (see pic below) which grossed me out. The tag was wet and the cardboard half disintegrated, they felt damp when I pulled them out (oh and already had a pull in them) and had a weird smell, so I am completely turned off from wearing them. I have put them in the wash so I'll see how they are then.... I can see myself wearing them under boots, or perhaps just to bed! $24.95 is a ridiculous RRP for socks though! (especially ones that aren't great quality)

Cedel scented hairspray RRP $4.99

I received the scent 'Berry-licious'. I have never really seen a scented hairspray before! This one smells a bit like medicine but hopefully that doesn't hang around for too long after applying!

 

Urban Rituelle Beachcomber Soap Bar RRP $4.95

I received the scent coconut and honey which is simply divine. It smells SO GOOD. I received a body lotion in this scent in a previous HFB and loved that too. Manicare Fashion Nail Shaper RRP $1.95

Not impressed with received a $2 nail file. How ridiculous.

 

Mor Essentials Hand Cream RRP $14.95 for 80ml.

I received 5 satchets, in Honey Nextar, Neroli Clementine, Basil & Grape, Black Current Iris and Sugar Rose Tiger Lily). Not impressed with receiveing these either. Sachets suck at the best of times and I find it a bit of a cop out to receive 5 of them. Why not include one full sized hand cream? Mor is a great brand, so I am not knocking them, I am just a bit baffled at this inclusion. I also received a code MOR4U to receive 20% off at www.morcosmetics.com.au

 

So that is April's box. Wow am I glad this is my last! How disappointing! The only thing I am super happy about is the soap! The fashion accessories were spectacularly crap this month and I am confused by the beauty items... You can see there has been no effort put into this box at all and is not worth anywhere near the $39.95 I paid. What a waste of time and money. I use to be a really big fan of HFB but their boxes are no longer worth it and their customer service is severly lacking. Never though I would say this but good riddance HFB!
