Another Haul (Mecca, MAC & NYX)

Yep, more hauling. October seems to be the month of the spend!

I spent a couple of days last week in Canberra as I picked up my wedding dress, which I am absolutely in love with! I only wish that I could wear it more than once. It seems such a waste to have such a beautiful dress just sit in a cupboard forever! I also had to pick up some jewellery for my bridesmaids and a few other decorations and supplies for our wedding day. With all that done (and feeling the pain of some nasty sugar withdrawals) I decided on a bit of retail therapy....

Into Mecca I went, into Target I went, and into Myer I went, Down, down and down my bank account went... Oops! Yes I did spend a lot of money, but it was all on products that I've either been lusting after for a while or needed (erm yes, I did need more lip stick, really!!). Plus I see it as living out on the farm we spend nothing, and I mean nothing. Living in the middle of nowhere certainly has it's perks and one of those is not having the oppurtunity to spend money, even if you want to! (Except online shopping. Damn you online shopping!)

Onto what I picked up:

Mecca
Hourglass No.2 brush $76
By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra Powder $79
Nars Illumiator in Orgasm $39

I am in no means a beauty product whiz, or an expert. The more and more I get into the world of beauty the more I learn. One of the biggest thing I've learnt is to not skimp on brushes! I use to think they were all the same, but they are not and this Hourglass brush is to die for. It doesn't eat your makeup (all my other cheap brushes seem to have more makeup on them then on my face!), and it works for all types of makeup. Liquid/Cream foundation, powder, blush, illuminator. It.is.amazing. I was also after something to set my makeup without drying me out - my skin has been so dry lately - and the kind Mecca SA spent ages with me helping me decide on what was best and I landed the By Terry powder. Just for fun I got the Nars Illuminator, as it's also good for use under my eyes when mixed with concealer and gives an overall lovely dewy look.

Myer

MAC Prep + Prime Skin Brightening Serum $65
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural Powder (Medium) $49

I'm a MAC convert. I honestly hate myself for not getting into MAC before now. Last time I stopped by the MAC counter the SA gave me a sample of this serum and I instantly fell in love. It is the perfect base for my makeup and gives my skin a good dose of brightening which it needs! I needed a good quality powder too, so into the basket this one went. It gives me the most natural look whilst getting rid of shine, without any caking. Lush.

Target

NYX Matte Bronzer in MBB01 Light $12.64
NYX Rouge Cream Blush in CB02 Natural $8.36

NYX Stay Matte Liquid Foundation in SMF04 Creamy Natural $10.45
NYX Lipstick in LSS628 Tea Rose $6.26
NYX Lipstick in LSS513 Electra $6.26

I was in Target getting a new blender (I'm really on the smoothie wagon at the moment) and saw the whopping 30% off NYX, and I just couldn't say no. I reallllllly didn't need any of these products but at 30% off I thought it was good to stock up. I've heard some good things about this bronzer as it is matte, which works much better on me - I hate too much shimmer in my bronzer it just enlarges my pores and makes me look horrid and old. I also got this lovely cream blush and some foundation, but my favourite items are the two lipsticks. Wow does NYX make a good lipstick! Electra (red) is to.die.for. I've hated all reds I've tried but this. wow. I can't even put into words how much I love this!!

Have you hauled recently? What have you picked up?
