Empties - September

I'm probably sounding like a broken record, as I likely start these kind of posts in the same way but i'll say it again, where has this year gone and how is it already October? Gah! It's now officially less than one month to my wedding... shit is about to get real...

As September ends it's time for another round of talking about my trash, yep my empties. Looking through these products I have managed to use up some great items, and ones that I have already gone and re-purchased.. but at the same time I'm a bit disappointed I didn't get through more, especially haircare - my bathroom vanity is practically bursting with products begging to be used! Anyway, let's have a closer look at what I used up:

Pantene Pro-V Aqua Light Shampoo & Conditioner
I have managed to rack up a stack of shampoo and conditioner samples, so I've started making my way through them. I found the conditioner to do a pretty good job at leaving my hair shiny and silky but the shampoo was awful to use. It made my hair feel sort of rubbery and yuck. Repurchase? No

Clariol Visible Repair Intensive Mask
This left my hair feeling nice and silky immediately after washing, but that feeling didn't seem to last long. After a couple of hours my hair went really really oily, so much so I had to wash it that night or the next day (I usually only wash my hair 2 - 3 times a week) and I can't pin that to anything else but this product. Repurchase? No

Toni & Guy Shampoo for Fine Hair and Conditioner for Damaged Hair
I adore Toni & Guy, it really agrees with my hair. This has been a great combo too - the shampoo for fine hair leaves my hair nice and clean and with a bit of body to it and the conditioner helps with my dry damaged hair. Love love love. Repurchase? Yes, already have - these are my go to shampoo and conditioners!

Schwarzkopf Strong Styling Hairspray
I have had this hairspray for so so so long. This gives great hold but I find the smell pretty repulsive and it hangs around unfortunately. On the plus side it is easy to comb out if you need to and the strong hold it does have lasts a long time. Repurchase? No, I would prefer one that didn't smell so strongly

Benefit - Confessions of a Concealaholic Kit
I received this as a gift and got a whole lot of love out of it! It is the cutest little kit which is styled as a concealaholics diary, it is great as it comes with a little booklet giving more detail about each product and how to use it. There is a little bit of product left over however it was starting to go a little hard and hard to work with so thought it was best to chuck. This was a concealing/brightening kit and consisted of:
That Gal Brightening Face Primer 7.5ml - this primer felt lovely but didn't do to much for my skin, my makeup seemed to kind of get eaten up by it! (I also used this up a long while ago)
Erase Paste (No. 2 Medium) 3.2g - ah, love this and I do actually have some left in the little pot which I am still using. This works best on my under eyes
Boi-ing 01 and Boi-ing 02 (2 x 13g) - it worked out so well that they include the two shades of concealer as it suited my skin tone perfectly when I mixed the two together. Perfect for blemishes!
Lemon-Aid (0.9g) - this is a great eyeshadow primer, but can also be used alone. It corrects the whole eye area and helps to hide veins and uneven colouring.
Eye Bright (0.9g) - this is probably my favourite out of the whole kit. This brightens your eyes instantly and makes you look more awake.
The kit also came with some little brushes for use with each product however I didn't find them that great and didn't use them much.
Repurchase? Not this kit, but perhaps some of the items that were in it (Eye bright and erase paste)

Clinique True Bronze Pressed Powder Bronzer in 03 Sunblushed
This was a great bronzer but a little to dark for my face so I used it on my body when I needed a bit of glow and it was perfect for that, especially when I wore fake tan. Repurchase? Maybe one in a colour better suited for me

Clinique Lip Balm in Shy Honey
This was one of my favourite balms and I'm a bit sad to see it go! It gave my lips a nice sheen and was beautifully moisturising and long lasting. Repurchase? Yes

Lucas Paw Paw Ointment
Freakin love this. I use it mainly on my feet to help with dry cracked heels and it is perfect. It's also great on lips and any other dry areas such as elbows, knees etc. Repurchase? Yep, already have!

Mary Kay Energising Foot Scrub
This was suprisingly very good! It had a nice almost minty kind of smell to it and made my feet feel instantly refreshed. A nice little treatment to leave your tootsies smooth! Repurchase? Maybe -  especially now since summer is approaching (thong weather!)

Timeless Truth Green Tea Soothing Mask
I've used these masks before and have always found them to have way to much product on them and it just drips off whilst your trying to relax. This was no exception. It didn't really make any difference to my skin either. I'd rather use a nice serum or something. Repurchase? No

Sukin Revitalising Facial Scrub
This is my all time favourite manual facial exfoliator. It is so gentle but exfoliates so well using micro particles of bamboo and ground walnut shells. I look forward to using this so in love! Repurchase? Already have!

Aveda Botanical Kenetics range
I did a full review of these products here. Repurchase? Only the exfoliant part of the range (which I have not fully used up yet!)

Clinique Even Better Makeup in 05 Neutral
This was so good I went out and bought a full size straight away! It just works so well with my oily/combination skin as it doesn't cake on my dry areas but it still good on my oily t-zone. It does require setting, especially on my t-zone but I'm used to that. It gives the coverage I want (is also buildable) and gives a nice natural looking finish. Repurchase? Yes - I've got the full size now (although in a different shade)

Clinique Smart Custom Repair Serum
This was a nice feeling serum however it is always really hard to see any noticible difference to my skin from such a small sample. I'm happy with my Indio serum and this didn't sway me from that. Repurchase? No

Yu-Be Moisturising Skin Cream
I have read a lot about this cream, mostly that it works wonders but has an odd smell. Well I thought the opposite! It didn't do much for my skin and I didn't find the smell very odd! Repurchase? No

Nutrimetics Nutri-Rich Beauty Balm
This gave my skin such a beautiful radiant look, however it left it feeling very sticky and tacky and made it hard to apply foundation over the top (although this was made a little easier with a stippling brush). It's to bad it had such a sticky feeling to it as it did give a beautiful look Repurchase? No - just because of the tacky feeling

Mirenesse Eclipse Age Defence Mineral Balm
This is an odd product. I really don't know what to even do with it! Instructions on the website say to either use it before makeup, or over makeup. I tried both and neither really did anything! It was like an invisble cream that did literally nothing... Repurchase? No, however I have a full size sitting in my stash (I won a Mirenesse pack on facebook) so perhaps I'll fiddle with it a little more....

Bioderma Crealine H20
I like this, but like Garnier's micellar water better :) Repurchase? No

Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion
Finally the last of these samples! It is a great lotion though, I just prefer a different brand.  When I first used this I was a big fan, but the more and more I used it the less and less I liked it. Repurchase? No

Bioderma Atoderm Nourishing Creme
This cream says it can be used for either face or body, but as it is suitable for dry to very dry skin I only used this on my body. It was good, but I wouldn't use it again. Repurchase? No

So that rounds up my empties for September! I'm concentrating on using haircare products up in October!

Is there anything that you have recently used up?
