Bellabox - July 2014 review

One of these months I will get my reviews in before the end of the month!! It doesn't help that post takes extra long to get to me (living rural has so many perks but getting post regularly is not one of them!). Anyway, July's Bellabox arrived to me late last week. I hadn't seen any sneak peeks, which to be honest is a good thing with BB, as many times they release exciting sneak peeks and those products aren't included in every box... I steer clear to avoid any 'disappointment'.

The theme for July was American Beauty. Here is what I received:

Yu-Be Moisturising Skin Cream (3ml sample) RRP $34.95 for 70g
I have heard of this before but never tried. It is fabulous for dry skin apparently which is perfect for me, I get really dry legs and feet so I will be trying it out on those areas first. I haven't opened it just yet as I have a few other samples I'm trying to use up first though!

Nicole by OPI Nail Lacquer in 'You're an Angel' (full size) RRP $12.95
I like OPI nail polish so happy to receive a brand like this although I'm not 100% sold on the colour I received though, it's a little too girly for me. Jury is out but I may just put this in my gifts to friends pile.

Designer Brands Paw Paw Plus Hand Cream (full size) RRP $4.99
I have so many hand creams at the moment, and I must say I am really picky with what products I use on my hands. (Aveeno and Mor are among my faves) this one is okay, it has a faint scent but I find it a little sticky after application. I doubt I will use much of this, especially when I have such better hand creams on hand! (Excuse the pun...)

Designer Brands Lip Butter in Mango (full size) RRP $4.99
I'm not a big fan of this brand so not too happy to receive a double up in this box... I have not used this lip butter previously but again I'm picky about what I use/try. This is sealed so may put it in gifts pile, or give it to my nieces.

Anastasia Lash Genius Waterproof Topcoat (3.2g received) RRP $39 for 5.3g
This is probably the most exciting product of the box. Applying this on top of your normal mascara makes it waterproof - a great idea. I look forward to trying this out as I do have some mascaras which could be improved by being waterproof.

StriVectin-EV Get Even Brightening Serum (1ml sachet received) RRP $89 for 50ml
It's a bit hard to receive small samples of these kind of products... this says that skin tone appears brigter in 2 weeks and in 8 weeks dark spots visibly fade. This has enough for one application so You wouldn't see any difference in that time. I don't really see the point in samples like this however I will say that it is great to see a brand I have never heard of or tried before.

Overall, I am not too happy in July's box. I will really only use 2 products and the rest will be gifted. Not everything can be a winner so hopefully August brings a better box! What did you think?
