Bite Beauty - Luminous Creme Lipstick in Vouvray - review

Okay, so first of all prepare for some serious gushing in this post. Second of all, I have to confess that I've never really been into lipstick... (queue shock and gasps)... I've always just worn gloss, whether it be clear or with just a hint of colour. I always thought I looked weird with lipstick on and my dry lips coupled with cheap lipsticks I've used in the past equals horrific results and I guess that kind of scarred me! As I get more and more into the world of lipsticks, good quality lipsticks that is, I stumbled upon Bite Beauty as I was lurking the Violet Box website.

So first up, what is Bite Beauty? Well, it's Lip Colour that's good enough to eat. Yep, each product is made of organic and natural ingredients. They even contain resveratrol, which delivers the same anti-oxidants as 5 glasses of red wine. This is what drew me to this lipstick in the first place - natural ingredients that deliver a high quality product. No parabens, no sulfates, no nasties.

I picked up the Luminous Creme Lipstick in the colour Vouvray from the Violet Box shop. It set me back $36.95.

The lipstick comes in a sleek tube. Each family of colours has a different shape tube. Reds have a sharp angled tip, Neutrals have a natural slant and Pinks (as mine is) are curved.

Vouvray is a lovely cool toned pink shade that is just divine. I often find light pink shades don't really suit me but this one gives some great brightness to my face. It has the perfect amound of shine without being to glossy. Below is the colour swatched on my wrist, and then on my lips (without a primer).

The lipstick is a breeze to apply and doesn't bleed. It is nice and creamy and very moisturising. I have dry lips and find it hard to find a lipstick that doesn't fall too much into my lines or give those horrid little flakes - yuck. This is so beautifully moisturising that I can wear it alone, no primer, no balm - and for me, with a pale colour, it's unheard of!
I found the lipstick lasts for about 3 hours when it starts to wear off, depending on what you are doing. Although it wears off pretty evenly, I did find that if I ate it would almost be gone and it did transfer slightly to mugs and glasses.

I seriously can't speak highly enough of this lipstick. It is definately the best that I own and I will certainly be getting some more shades and trying out the rest of the Bite Beauty range.

Do you own this lipstick or anything else from Bite Beauty? What are your thoughts?
