Violet Box - July 2014 review

This is the last of my 3 month subscription, and I'm really disappointed to see it stop! In my opinion Violet Box is leaps and bounds above the other two beauty boxes I am subscribed to. Violet Box costs a little more ($22.95 per month) however there is always full size products included, there isn't much variance between boxes that other subscribers receive (so none of that I got the crap box thinking) and it consistently contains a wide variety of products and brands - and not just drugstore brands either. When My annual sub for Bellabox finishes I will be going straight to Violet Box.

July came in some new packaging which I think is great. Instead of the magnetic black box, it is a white box with a black pull out black 'drawer'. Violet Box has by far the best packaging and super happy with this keepable box.

Anyway, onto what was actually in July's box:

Skin & Co Truffle Therapy Serum (5ml sample) RRP $75 for 30ml
This serum says it increases skin hydration and reduces fine lines and wrinkles. It smells lovely, although I do prefer to use non-fragranced products on my face. I will use this sample but doubt I will go and purchase a full size.

Sukin Skin Purifying Facial Mask (2 x 8ml samples) RRP $15 for 100ml
Sukin is one of those brands I've always wanted to try but never got around to it. So although I despise sachets I am looking forward to trying this Mask!

KMS California Hair Play Molding Paste (20ml sample) RRP $40 for 150ml or $33 for 100ml
I am a big fan of another KMS' volumising spray so I like to see this brand included. This product apparently gives you pliable hold and definition and texture. Looking forward to trying this out.

LAQA & Co Sheer Lip Lube Pencil (full size) RRP $20
This is definitely the pick of the box for me. I love this product! It is a beautiful pink and quite glossy. It does say its sheer it gives me a fair bit of colour with one application (and is easily buildable) however it only lasts an hour or so (which is a bit of a let down). It is easy to apply and twists up for more product so no sharpener needed. Love it and I've used it every day since receiving!

Dr Hauschka Lavender Sandalwood Calming Body Wash (10ml) RRP $6 for 10ml or $26 for 200ml
I love products that are sealed - it means I can wait to open them after I'm finished up all my other samples. Another brand I don't know much about so happy to receive this. I'm not sure why they sell these in 10ml though, it's tiny and one use for $6 is a bit crazy!

So Susan Flutter Mascara (full size) RRP $32
Another sealed product, which is great especially for mascara (I already have a few which I'm nearing my use by date!!) this mascara is apparently formulated with hyaluronic spheres to help achieve the darkest, curviest lashes possible.... Interesting!

Bonus (not on card) 2 x samples of Beyonce Rise
These kind of things always come in handy. I love Beyonce Heat so will be nice to see how this one smells.

Overall I'm happy with this box. Good brands and good sized samples. I've managed to find a new favourite gloss too so can't complain with that! Looking forward to signing back up with Violet Box as soon as I can!!!
