This is Bellabox's 3rd birthday box so I was expecting big things. I had seen one sneak peek (they really spammed my email this month!) so I did know I was receiving the nail polish, but other than that I didn't really know what else to expect... All I knew was that they really bigged this box up. Like massively. Going and on and on about how good this box was. Was it worth it? Hmmm.
This was late as well as it did arrive in November. I also didn't receive any correspondence - usually I get a dispatch notice but I didn't this month. Bellabox's customer service is really lacking lately. Anyway, here are my thoughts on what was included in the October birthday box:
Kester Black for Bellabox Nail Polish (full size)

I received the shade Coral Me Maybe, which I am quite in love with! This was designed especially for Bellabox which I think is lovely and a nice touch, especially for a birthday box. I've never tried Kester Black polish but it is supposed to be long wearing and chip resistant and is also 100% vegan. Looking forward to wearing this!
Boe Beauty Metallic Liquid Eyeliner (full size)

Wow, liquid liner for $2 and I thought my holy grail liner was a steal at $19! haha! I've not tried this brand before (available at Big W) as I don't usually go for something this cheap... (I know, I know, makeup snob!) but I was interested to swatch this baby (see below). It is a metallic green, and quite light so it would give just a hint of colour. It was a little hard to apply evenly and bunched in spots as it is a bit gloopy (if that makes sense?) It did dry quite quickly on my arm but unfortunately it did crack and the line didn't last long. I will give this a go on my eyes but I'm not expecting big things.
Le Tan Fragrance Free Oil (full size)

Interesting product, and it's not something I've used before (which is a great inclusion!). This is a sunscreen oil, which works to protect and hydrate your skin to help prevent peeling and dryness (and burning!). This is a 30+ sunscreen. I am actually looking forward to trying this out - hopefully it won't be too greasy being an oil though. It is quite thick and almost gel like. The thing I like most is it's fragrance free - no more stinking sunscreen (i hate the smell!)
ModelCo SkinCare (assorted sachets)
I did receive these in September's Lust Have It, and I wasn't overly impressed in getting more from ModelCo, however I am willing to give this line a try. I've now got two sachets each of this stuff so I can hopefully tell how good each product is by more uses. Not the greatest addition (for me) though. I also hate sachets and was hoping the birthday box would be a sachet free zone!!
Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle scrub (15ml sample)

I love a good facial scrub but I have used this before and I didn't like it. It was really drying and I didn't like the smell.
Mor Hand Cream (sample)
I can't stand that Bellabox often puts 'Bonus' for the last item on the info card and it's more often than not a sachet. Like we should feel so lucky that we got a bonus crappy sachet.
*rolls eyes*
I do adore this Mor hand cream, and I have got a full size but these are everywhere and I don't think it's a great inclusion (especially for a birthday box!!)
Overall, for a birthday box I wasn't too impressed. It's all stuff that has been seen before - apart from the Le Tan Oil. I would have expected to see more exciting brands, or at least more exciting products. I don't know if I'm being to harsh here (my Bellabox opinion is pretty low anyway) but you'd think there would have been more than just run of the mill samples from drugstore brands... They really should have hit a homerun with this box, but for me it missed the mark. Nothing feels overly special about it except for the designed for Bellabox nail polish.
Obviously they can't please everyone, and from what I think is good others might not and vice versa but Bellabox really varies from box to box and often it is not a fair variance. Anyway, next month is my last month of Bellabox and I'm really looking forward to it ending!
