Empties - October

Well it's that time again, time for my empties! I really like writing these posts as I get to go through everything I've used in more detail and decide if I want it again. Plus it makes me feel better about my frequent hauls ;)
So what did I use up in October?

I am fairly impressed (again, I say that every month!) with what I got through this month, even though a lot of it was shampoo and conditioner. There are a few full sized makeup items which I'm happy I stuck with and used up!

Loreal Base Magique Primer I know this gets a lot of rave reviews but for me it just didn't work. It was hard to apply as it 'grabbed' by skin (even after rubbing the product between my fingers) and would often pill under cream or liquid foundation - although I had no trouble with that under powder. I also prefer products like this to be in a tube rather than a jar. Repurchase? No

Sheer Cover Base Perfector I was given a gift of Sheer Cover a while ago but I ended up sending it back as it was truly horrendous. This was one of the products you got to keep even if you didn't like the powder and I quite like it! It definately smooths my complexion and provided a good base for makeup. Repurchase? It is a good product but the headache of ordering Sheer Cover powder is not worth it!

Nude by Nature Mineral Veil This is a great finishing powder. It doesn't cake or give you any more coverage it is a great last step. I do however find the By Terry finishing powder to be much more fine and helps my makeup to last longer - which this one doesn't. Repurchase? I actually have another full size in my stash which hasn't been opened yet! Other than that, no.

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in Medium I have been wearing this as my daily face on the farm for the past month or so as it gives a little coverage and evens out my skin tone. In can get a little greasy (especially when the weather warms up) but for winter it is okay. Repurchase? No - i'd prefer something less greasy.

Nude by Nature Flawless Concealer in Medium Gosh I have had this open for so so long - this is even their old packaging! It would be way past the 6 month expiry date but the product hadn't changed so I kept using it. It is a fairly good concealer but only on spots - it doesn't help with my dark circles and cakes when I try to build up the coverage. Repurchase? I have another one, but after that no.

ModelCo Face Tan You may or may not know that I hate ModelCo cosmetics, but they do a fabulous job with their tanning products. This one is a gel consistency for face - I was worried that it would be too oily for my skin but it isn't at all. It does make me break out if I use it consistently though. Repurchase? No, just because of the breakout factor - and I've found my holy grail in St Tropez.

REN Satin Perfection BB Cream This was a sample included with one of my Mecca online orders and I just love it. It smooths out my complexion whilst keeping it moisturised but without going greasy. It also has SPF 15 which is a brilliant bonus - especially on the farm. Repurchase? Yes! This is a fantastic BB.

Chapstick Strawberry Lip Balm Honestly I am so amazed and damn proud of myself for getting through a while chapstick without losing the sucker! I don't think this has ever happened to me! I love chapstick, they give my pout the perfect amount of hydration. Repurchase? I have a couple in my stash - but definately yes!

Polished London Dry Shampoo in Blighty Brunette This is by far my favourite dry shampoo and this is tinted brown so doesn't leave my locks grey. It smells horrendous though and I often have to run away from the spot I've sprayed it in but nevertheless it does it's job and does it well! Repurchase? Already have - I went crazy in Priceline when these were half price and I have about a dozen.... shame....

Dove Hair Therapy Heat Defence I never thought I would get through this. I've had it for so long I can't even say. This did seem to do a good job at protecting my hair and always did leave it feeling nice however I'd prefer something that detangles at the same time, and this didn't do that. Repurchase? No

Appelles Blackseed Shampoo and Tamanu Conditioner First up these smelt amazing. So refreshing and calming and just lovely. Unfortunately though the fun ends there. The shampoo didn't lather well and was hard to work through my hair and neither really left my hair feeling great. The little bottles are gorgeous though! Repurchase? No

Pantente/Herbal Essences/Ogx Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo & Conditioners there isn't much for me to say about these three shampoo and conditioners they were all pretty poor and didn't do much for my hair. The argan oil left my hair so greasy I washed it again the same day and then used the rest to shave my legs with! Repurchase? No way

NPW Nail Polish Remover Pads These were supposed to have a vanilla scent but they didn't - they smelt exactly the same as every other nail polish remover. These were good for on the go (but seriously when do you need nail polish remover on the go?) but are a bit gimicky. It's not hard to use cotton pads is it! Repurchase? No

Manicare Nail Polish Remover This is my go to remover and has been for as long as I can remember. Nothing beats it. Repurchase? Already have

Urban Rituelle Coconut & Honey Soap Oh.My.God. This smells divine, I couldn't get enough and was so sad to see this end! It also doesn't dry out hands (I use a LOT of soap) which is fantastic. Repurchase? Yes!!

Pure Fiji Body Butter in Starfruit This is another amazingly scented product. I couldn't get enough of the scent, and the butter was beautiful and lush - very thick and a little went a long way. Repurchase? Maybe, depending how cheap I could get it

Clinique repairwear eye cream this was actually discontinued in Feb 2013 (fear not, I only opened it about 5 months ago!) and have finally worked my way through the jar. It is actually a really good eye cream, it did nothing for my fine lines but it left the skin around my eyes so hydrated and lovely. I haven't been able to sample the replacement, but i'm using Indio at the moment and it is doing a great job too. Repurchase? I can't!

Sukin Purifying Facial Masque Ohhhh this was lovely! It was a clay based mask which really felt beautiful on my skin - no tight feeling afterwards. I'm not sure if it made to much of a difference to my skin but perhaps it would if I used it consistently. Repurchase? Yes

Egyption Magic All Purpose Skin Cream I used this on my feet as I wanted to see if it made a difference to my dry skin. It didn't. Repurchase? No

Beyonce Rise I thought this would smell a lot better than it did. It didn't hang around long either but maybe that's just because of the little pad not applying enough perfume? Repurchase? No

Essenzza Natural Facial Cleansing Wipes I am not much of a face wipe girl anymore but I do like to have them in my stash just in case. These are great as they are smooth on one side and has a textured side on the other to help remove more dirt/makeup. The also don't tug on my skin and do a pretty damn good job at removing almost all makeup. Repurchase? Yes

Coconut Revolution Coconut Body Lotion Yummy is the only way I can describe this. It smells amazing! I adore coconut! The lotion itself is a little on the thin side though. Repurchase? No

Naturalus Pap Paw Gel This was really hard to see how the product worked as it had like one drop of product. I could see that it would be good for sunburn maybe as from what I got it was very cooling. They just need to be less stingy with the sample!! Repurchase? No

Palmers Cocoa Butter Ok I know I hate this, but I used the sachet anyway as who knows it might suprise me. Erm, well it didn't. I still hate it. The smell makes me gag and it doesn't rub into my skin. Repurchase? Hell no!

And there you have it - my rubbish. I'm always amazed at what I get through as I often don't feel like I'm making a dent in my stash but I obviously am! Once my subscription boxes stop I'm sure I won't feel the great need to use up so much anyway!

What have you used up recently?
